Product Description

Details

An early ripening and productive grape that originated in France and which is now grown widely in many areas including California and Northern Italy. The grape produces a rich fruity non-astringent wine that, because of its softness, is often blended with many of the world’s finest red wines.

Richard Blackwell (the owner of Wineworks) saw a gap in the market in the late 80's for a really good quality wine kit, and launched a range called The House of Beaverdale. Throughout the next 15 years he developed this range with improvements in quality, varieties and packaging, to solidify its position as the best selling quality wine kit in the UK.

Have been brewing now about 18 months and must say these Beaverdale wines are very appealing to the palate.
I made Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir all which are very easy to drink and apparently are still good to drink at around 12 months.Thats a laugh after sampling these most wont have them that time lol (Posted on 25/09/2019)

Straightforward to produce, just follow excellent clear instructions, really does pay to leave it once bottled for at least 3 months, you will be rewarded with a superb wine that more than compares to medium priced commercially produced Merlot. About to order my third box, I can only get 25 or 26 bottles per kit, not 30 as advertised. (Posted on 27/12/2018)

Brewed at 20 degrees and left to ferment completely
Drinkable straight away but manage to leave it for a month
One of the best reds I've tasted, very smooth and fruity with no aftertaste
Highly recommended (Posted on 30/01/2017)

I have tried the Solomon Grundy Merlot and didn't like it I found it to be quite acidulous in after taste, but the Beaverdale Merlot is much smoother and nicer to drink I don't rack at 1010 as a previous guy stated, I let mine completely ferment out and then transfer de gas ,leave for a week then bottle.
I must admit I then drink straight away it's very drinkable, a fruity plummy winewith no after taste . (Posted on 27/11/2016)
Beaverdale the bestReview by Jim

A very good wine. I have been using the Beaverdale kits for almost a year now and have worked my way through most of them. Some are still untasted cos they are conditioning but overall the brand does it for us.
I rack at 1010, and after the final stages I transfer to a clean fermenter.
I leave it in that to clear for 10 days then rack it into a glass carboy.
After a month conditioning in that I filter into another container using a Buon Vino filter.
I bottle the same day and then leave it for another month minimum.
Whether or not I would get the same success with other wine kits I don\'t know but I reckon Beaverdale are all very pleasant tipples. (Posted on 07/03/2016)

Excellent kit producing a wine with much more character than the cheaper "add your own sugar" kits. Leave the wine for a month or two after bottling (if you can) for best results. (Posted on 05/03/2016)

After four weeks conditioning in a plastic carboy, then filtering with a Buon Vino mini jet, then leaving for another two weeks (by which time my tongue was hanging out :-), it was a really good result. Better than the £8 a bottle Supermarkets range. Being biased probably swung it that way but we are well pleased. (Posted on 21/12/2015)
