The addition of the Alembic Copper Dome and Alembic Copper Condenser transform the Spiritworks Boiler into an Alembic Pot Still. Instead of stripping flavours to give clean spirit like the Turbo 500 Condenser, this pot still retains and enhances flavours. This can be used when distilling washes that contain flavours that you wish to collect. Complete kit designed for collecting the natural flavours we would get in a fermentation. This piece of kit is perfectly suited to those for example wanting to make Whisky from grain or Rum for Molasses Vodka from Potatoes and other similar washes. All you need to get started making fantastic spirits & liqueurs. You will not find a better value for money kit anywhere. This will make 10 x 75cl bottles of 40% ABV liquor. Once the starter pack has been purchased each additional batch will cost approx. £2.30 a bottle. See our Cost of Producing Spirits & Liqueurs guide for more details.

Spiritworks Granular Carbon Filter - Contents

  • Aluminium Tube with 2 ends with washers
  • Anodised Aluminium Mesh Filter support (top)
  • Stainless mesh filter (bottom)
  • 2 x 10-litre buckets with lids and a tap.
  • One length of siphon tube.
  • Funnel
  • 1 x 1kg of Granular Carbon

The Filter is designed to clean the alcohol after distillation and remove off flavours and smells which can happen in the process. For the filtration to work effectively it's essential the strength of the alcohol that needs treating is between 40-50% ABV. Please dilute your alcohol to be within this range before starting. Please note some distillations will not want to be run through the filter because this can take out Essential flavours you may wish to retain.

Further Information

For information regarding the distillation of alcohol using this still in the UK please see our UK Disclaimer Page.

Note:

The Alembic shouldn’t be used with the Water Flow Regulator. Even when it’s at full blast, it produces around 2.4L/min. Sometimes when distilling you need a higher flow rate, so the water should come straight from the tap and not the Water Regulator.

Unlike the T500, the Alembic is more forgiving to a fluctuation in temperature. If you connect the tubing straight to the tap, you shouldn’t have any issues.
