Small Copper Parrot Head Attachment For T500

The small T500 parrot head is designed to attach to the spirit outlet spout of the T500.

You will need to cut a small piece of silicone tubing(included) and slide it over the outlet pipe on the T500, about 1cm should suffice, it’s only to make a tight seal.

Gently push the Parrot Head input spout over the silicone tube with a slight twisting action. If it’s too restrictive, a spot of lubrication will help, just a dab of saliva (or Vaseline) is all you need.

Once the distillate starts to run out of the T500 the two columns will fill up. The Spirit Hydrometer (Scale 0 to 100) can be gently lowered into the first chamber.

Once you have finished collecting your distillate, wait until the unit has cooled down slightly before trying to remove the Parrot Head. Again, slightly twisting the head will ease it off. Ensure that when both installing or removing the Parrot Head, you don’t push the silicone tube inside, as it will be irretrievable

Once the Parrot Head is in place, you may want to rest it on the velvet pad supplied to stop any potential marking of the still lid and this will also act as a support.

It is important that you don’t leave the T500 unattended after you have switched it off.

NOTE:

With this being attached to the column its necessary to use a small hydrometer. We have run out of these (our standard one is too long) so unless you have access to this(they are available on the internet) don’t order this Parrot Head.

Cleaning

You may find green specks on this product, which will be just flux residue (which is water soluble).  You can soak it in a mild solution of citric acid, which will get most stuff off, but it won't be shiny. To polish it,  use a standard copper polish like Brasso, or Copper shine.
